The expansion and rebuilding of Solar Flare was commissioned by The Fool Factory in 2002. Solar Flare is described as 'a giant, cybernetic articulated stilt-walking silver and black manga style alien character, with flashing lights and surreal noises still hot from entry into the Earth's atmosphere'.
